Puppy Socialization is where we set the stage for a dog's emotions about the world for their entire life. In this short window of brain development, we work to reduce and/or prevent instances of fear and stress, build your puppy's confidence and optimism about the world at large and increase resiliency or bounce-back ability.
What All The Bark Is About
Ultimate Puppy School is the absolute best!!! I can't say enough great things about Val and the other trainers at day school. Our puppy not only learned so many invaluable socialization skills, but her obedience skills are awesome! Such a great investment for your puppy and for your family!!
This was worth every penny. The attention to detail and consideration that the trainers show is second to none. In the month long [Puppy Day School] program, I got daily pictures and videos of my dog learning and playing, she went on four different field trips with the trainers, I received a detailed report card at the end of each week, had two private hour long training sessions, and was given a ton of training material to keep her on track at home.
We did the 4-week [Puppy Day School] training and even added on some additional time. Luna has learned so much under their watch and is amazing walking on leash and hiking. She is great with other dogs she meets and gained a ton of confidence. Luna absolutely loved coming to school and didn't want to leave! I highly recommend taking a puppy here!
The lessons they give in person for humans are very personable and informative. They even upload videos so you can see what your puppy did at playtime. Everything has been perfect. Every dog we get in the future will come here too. Update: Our pup is 10 months old now. He is very well behaved and I owe it all to the amazing trainers here. We would be clueless without them.
Rocky Mountain Dog Training has gone above and beyond with all of my dog training needs. I was first introduced when I signed up for puppy socialization, and have continued a relationship with RMDT for many years. I think they are a true model of why and how rewards-based training really works.
My experience with RMDT has been nothing but fabulous! Julie and her team are so patient, knowledgeable, and understanding. Both the puppy manners class and puppy socials have been so incredibly helpful into shaping my puppy, Auggie, into a sane-minded and attentive puppy. We look forward to continuing to her level two classes.
We use humane, positive reinforcement style training that aligns with most current scientific research on animal learning and best ethical practices. Our well-vetted training plans are intended to optimize speed in learning and retention for the dog using rewards-based training. Families are busy, our job is to make this process as efficient and fun as possible. We are strongly against punitive methods in training. To learn more about our guiding principles, check out the LIMA position statement from the APDT here.
Our training team is committed to staying up on the best practices in dog behavior & learning through participation in continuing education programs, scientific publications, books, seminar DVDs, and of course through participating in ongoing discussion groups with our respected colleagues across the front range.
